Maths Tutoring

Different routes into maths.

Maths doesn't always click the first time, or in the way it's usually explained.

Easy as Pi offers one-to-one and small-group maths tutoring designed around the learner, building understanding, confidence and independence while finding different routes into the concepts that need a little more work.

From strengthening foundations to preparing for GCSE exams, sessions focus on understanding the maths rather than simply getting through a worksheet.

Tutoring built around the learner

No two learners approach maths in exactly the same way, so no two tutoring sessions need to look exactly the same.

Sessions can combine practical activities, games, discussion, visual approaches and written or exam-style questions, depending on the learner, the topic and what they're working towards.

The aim is always the same: to help the maths make sense.

Tutoring options

One-to-one tutoring

Individual sessions shaped around the learner's current understanding, goals and confidence.

Small-group tutoring

Small sessions offering the chance to learn alongside others while still receiving individual support and attention.

Home education

Flexible maths support for home-educated learners, with space to explore concepts differently and connect maths to interests and real-world contexts.

What can a session look like?

A maths session doesn't have to mean sitting in front of a worksheet for an hour.

Depending on the learner, a session might involve cards, games, manipulatives, practical challenges, real-world problems, topic choices, calculator skills or exam questions.

Different approaches can be tried until something clicks, while still building the skills and confidence needed to tackle maths independently.
